Why, you wise guy...

I've been sitting here for a hour trying to come up with something to write about. Politics? Pop culture? Belly button ring care and maintenance? But all I can think about is The Spirit of Radio. Yes, the Rush song. The version I'm listening to over and over in my head currently is this:

Now this song doesn't lend itself to a great deal of comedy, or even caring to some people, but to me it is this video itself which sparks my mind.

See, the music played before Rush blasts your face off with their Canadian prog rock is the theme from The Three Stooges. I explain all this because I can only assume that no one under the age of 30 knows what The Three Stooges are. I will tell you. And no, you don't have a choice.

The Three Stooges were 4 guys (three at a time, dummy) who hit each other over the head, and poked each others eyes out all while failing to paint a house, or run a jail, or properly maintain and care for their new belly button ring to comedic effect. There was Larry (left) Moe (right), and Curly (middle):

There was Shemp, but no one ever gave a shit about him. And neither will we.

The Stooges spent decades entertaining American by making the pre-war equivalent of Michael Bay films: let's not think about the plot as much as we hit each other in the nuts for 20 minutes...

If you want to know what's really funny: I don't even like The Three Stooges. But I still wrote all kinds of garbage about them. What I do like are the Marx Brothers. That is pure f-ing genius, and maybe, if you're good, I'll tell you about them later.

This has been the first part of my new "let me tell you things that I shouldn't know about" series. I have high hopes...
