Ante Meridiem Eye Openers---October 24, 2007 CE

1) Here is an interesting article regarding University of San Diego freshman Rob Jones. Rob is a good basketball player, who just so happens to have a grandfather who killed 900 people. Black Sheep, ha, every family's got 'em. But seriously, don't let that kid mix the Gatorade for the games.

2) Freddy Adu plays soccer in the Portuguese league. He used to play for Real Salt Lake in Salt Lake City Utah. It's funny how you just never know the dark and twisted shit that can happen to a young man until you read about it on ESPN. I would have to go visit Rob Jones' grandfather if I had to live in Salt Lake City or Portugal. I don't speak the language at either place.

3) Fans from around the Colorado region were miffed that Hannah Montana tickets were gobbled up so fast once they went on sale Tuesday. You just can't please these fans. If you win 21 of the last 22 games to vault your team into the playoffs and eventually the World Series for the first time in franchise history, then next they will want you to actually win said World Series. These vultures can't get enough from the boys in the black vests.

Quite a sports centric AMEO today, so here is something different:

4) "I just knew it meant something. ... It was extremely powerful, and even though I didn't understand it. I knew it had power." No, this quote is not referring to Ron Jeremy's crotch, but a painting that was found in the trash by a passer-by. Turns out the painting was stolen and worth $1 million. I just hope those whiners from Denver don't get their panties in a wad if they don't win it at auction November 20th.

5) Finally, If you never visit links, go ahead and visit this one. This is the home page for Sky News in the UK. Peruse the list of topics on the left hand side of the page. The top four go like this: Home, UK News, Madeline, and World News. Madeline refers to Madeline McCann, the British equivalent to Natalee Holloway, that girl who disappeared in Aruba. News Corp owns Sky News and Fox News. Madeline/Natalee is more important than the rest of the world. Thanks for smelting the mold of lunacy, Greta Van Susteren. Idiocy knows no international bounds.

Everyone have a great day, and like Groucho Marx said, "Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read."
