1) So remember back when Nelson Mandela was a terrorist? And of course by terrorist I mean advocate for the ending of apartheid, the system in South Africa which kept blacks in virtual slavery while the whites ruled the country. Me too, and so does the US State Department, who have Mandela and several members of the ANC on a terrorist watch list. You know: terrorists who have won the noble peace prize. Lists need updating sometimes!
2) Just an interesting article on the guy who discovered Lucy, the oldest most complete skeleton of a human ancestor. Nothing funny, just interesting.
3) In sports, the Celtics beat the tar out of Atlanta, bringing their series to 3-2. The Washington Wizards beat the Cleveland Cavaliers to bring their series to 3-2 also. And finally, the fan supported "plus-one" system for a mini BCS playoff in college football has been rejected out of hand by every conference but the SEC and the ACC. So take that, people who don't like to make millions and millions of dollars with the current system!
4) The Time 100 is out and I haven't read the list yet. I imagine Nelson Mandela is on there as a terrorist. And looks like Miley Cyrus is in there as well. Probably because of that cold fusion reactor she invented. Move over Dean Kamen: here comes Hannah Montana!
Well, that's about it. It's like Stephen Fry said on A Bit of Fry and Laurie: "I can't pretend to be much of a judge of poetry, I'm an English teacher, not a homosexual."
