Ante Meridiem Eye Openers-May 12, 2008CE

1) In news which appeals to only the coolest alpha consumers (a-hem), Blackberry is introducing the new 9000, or Bold, to the market. The 9000 was sort of the Indiana Jones 4 of the past year. The internet knew something was going on, but they didn't know exactly what, and even after it was announced, no one had a clear grasp on the situation. But I've seen reviews and pictures on the Blackberry sites, and it's a nice looking phone. It doesn't make me want it, unlike that cocktease Meridith Baxter Berney.

2) Anyone who has a Facebook or mySpace account knows that you contact 4% of your total friend list on a regular basis. 10% get contacted at all. The rest is just people you didn't really know or like in high school, using you just as you use them: to pad your friend list. There is nothing like that one girl you had math with sophomore year to make it seem like you are the most popular guy at the Baskin Robbins.

3) In sports, Jazz over Lakers to even their series, as did the Spurs over the Hornets. I hate the Florida Marlins. In futbol news, Manchester United won the Premiere League title, which is recapped in this wonderfully written AP article. Brilliant.

4) Point Break, anyone?? Will Johnny Utah be hunting these Bird Rock Bandits down? Only time will tell.

Well, that's about it. It's like John McGinley as Ben Harp in Point Break said: "You know nothing. In fact, you know less than nothing. If you knew that you knew nothing, then that would be something, but you don't."
