Ante Meridiem Eye Openers-November 14, 2007CE

1) In the saddest news ever news, former Supreme Court Associate Justice Sandra Day O'Connor's husband, suffering from Alzheimer's, has formed a new relationship with another patient at his live in facility. Apparently this kind of thing happens all the time, because patients forget their spouses and then fall in love with another person. What's really sad is Sandy does still have her mind, so pretty much what happened was she gave up one of the hardest and most prized jobs in the world, and the day after that her husband woke up and asked who she was. Just another story which makes me wonder why there isn't a cottage industry revolving around mass suicides.

2) BIG FUCKING OOPS

you really can't follow up those two stories. its just like Francois de la Rochefoucauld said: "Why is it that our memory is good enough to retain the least triviality that happens to us, and yet not good enough to recollect how often we have told it to the same person?"

  1. Congratulations! You have officially depressed the hell out of me. I can't even be funny - I am too overwhelmed by thoughts of severe dementia, unrequited love, and various infectious diseases.
