Hello and welcome back. To myself. But whatever, let's get into some news---
1) It's so good to see that after 2 weeks of not having to read stuff like this, it can just jump right back up on me, first day and everything. The Texas Supreme Court ruled that the injuries sustained by a girl after fanatic members of her crazy church held her down and performed an exorcism, which left her physically and mentally scarred, could not be held as unlawful. Wonderful, for centuries people have been told its their duty to kill in the name of god, now its their duty to merely hurt or maim.
2) I was saddened last week when I heard that George Carlin died suddenly last Sunday at the age of 71. His memorial service was Sunday and I can only imagine it was a funny affair. It's hard not to turn memories into laughter, especially when it's a earth-shattering comedian like Carlin.
3) In sports, the European Championship of 2008 wrapped up yesterday afternoon, central time, and nighttime in Austria, with Spain defeating Germany for their first major title since 1964. It was a pretty good game, and what we noticed was how winded and slow the Germans looked compared to the Spanish. In baseball news, the White Sox managed to sweep the Cubbies this weekend, in Comiskey Park. Not US Cellular Field, or whatever they try to call it these days.
4) Sweden really knows how to go to the far left, and then just run right past the line. Sweden hasn't made a decision by using common sense in centuries, so I find myself less than surprised by their attempt to legislate a little boy's birthday party.
5) The new Rock Band is due out in September and there are many new features. This is a fun game, and I most certainly am not a video game player. I can't past level three of Super Mario Brothers. And I can't keep any food on my stomach when I watch the live action Super Mario Brothers movie.
6) This is a great and heartfelt story about a wounded soldier who wants to continue serving his country at the highest levels. Just click on the link. I'll give you time.

AAAAHAAHAHAHAHAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! Sounds like Captain Picasso is the perfect officer, minus that whole man without a face thing he's got going on. It is so much easier to sit here and blog and drink than it is to actually do something which helps people.
Well, that's about it. It's like Jack Benny said: “Modesty is my best quality”
